FAQ

Q. What is a floor "vino" area rug?

A. A floor "vino" area is a painting crafted for use on the floor as a rug.

Q. What is the difference between a floor "vino" area rug and canvas rug?

A. There isn't that much difference except for the cost of the material. I find it exciting to use vinyl sheet goods because it is less-flexible and sturdy. A floor "vino" area rug is a more affordable, durable and alternative to hand-painted floor area rug. My rugs offer, beautiful original designs by Cynthia Angerman, who combines her hand finishes with computer-aided design & stencils. This new hybrid floor "vino" area rug is printed on durable, water/stain/scuff resistant vinyl fabric, ideal for radiant floor heat applications, hypoallergenic, perfect for children & pets, and easy to care for.

Q. Are floor "vino" area rugs 100% hand-painted?

A. Yes and no. I combine hand-painted finishes and original computer-generated artwork to simulate a floor "vino" area rug painted by hand. This type of computer art allows for infinite possibilities in variation and design. The computer unleashes creativity in a way having to paint and repaint an area never could. The final design is printed on a durable vinyl fabric with a stain/scuff resistant laminate overlay. This print process makes the finished product extremely durable and affordable.

Q. How do I clean and maintain my floor "vino" area rug?

A. Sweep, or if you're feeling ambitious, damp mop. Take a damp mop and soft soapy water and clean the surface as though you were mopping vinyl flooring. Do not put your rug in the washing machine! Do not fold your rug. Do not place your rug outside or let it sit in water. Check the furniture that will be used on top of your rug and make sure that there is a E-Z protective glide cap attached to the bottom of the feet. It will make it easier to shift furniture and protect your new purchase from scratches at the same time.

Q. How do I install my floor "vino" area rug?

A. Install your floor "vino" rug as you would any other type of area rug. Fabric has memory and may have a slight roll to it from being shipped in a tube from our distribution center. Lay a few books over the surface for a few days until your piece lies completely flat.

Q. Where can I use my floor "vino" rug?

A. These rugs can be used in any room where there is hardwood, laminate, vinyl, concrete, and most ceramic tile. Do not use over carpet since the layer of carpet underneath would crush under the weight and cause the printed surface to bend repeatedly. Use your floor "vino" area rug covering as a decorative accent in your kitchen, hallway, child's room, bedroom, vacation home, rental property, boat, playroom, wherever you can think. The possibilities are only limited by your imagination!

Q. How do I move and store my floor "vino" area rug?

A. DO NOT FOLD! Be sure to roll the rug (printed side facing in) onto a rigid core tube and secure with a clean piece of cord. Plastic pipes or cardboard tubes available at the home improvement centers work very well. Store your floor covering either rolled or lying flat if possible.

Q. What is your return policy?

A. Designers' Floor Works by Design is committed to providing my customers with exceptional value, the finest designs, and a durable product. IF you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, please return the item with receipt within 30 days of purchase for an exchange or full refund. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES FOR CUSTOM ORDERS. Custom faux rugs are designed specifically for you so please be clear about what you want to avoid any problems. Again, I recommend you request a painted rendering of your custom design for your approval before you place your order.

Q. Will my rug slide if I put it on a hardwood or laminate floor?

A. No. Like any area rug, the use of a non-slip pad is recommended because of its weight. These can be purchased anywhere that area rugs are sold. Be sure to get the right size for your rug. Cut the non-slid pad 1/2" shorter surrounding to the size of the rug area.

Q. Can I walk on it?

A. Of course you can walk, run, and dance on it. Just don't roller blade on it!

Q. Can you create a custom design for me?

A. Not at this time. Due to the extensive labor and time required for custom designs, my business model could not support the generous return/exchange policy I have in place. The floor coverings I have created offer timeless beauty and classic design. However, I would love to hear your comments and/or suggestions regarding future designs and colors, as I do plan to expand our line of designs frequently.

Q. Are floor "vino" area rug products available in retail stores?

A. No. To keep costs down for my clients during our introductory period, I am offering my original floor "vino" area rugs on the internet only.
