A Definition of Faux Rug If you have never heard of nor know about faux rugs, you will be delightfully surprised to discover what an elegant
and practical solution they provide for your home. Durable, hypoallergenic, and low maintenance, faux rugs (painted
vinyl "vino" areas rugs) have been around quite sometime. They are constructed from a heavy weight vinyl, hand-
painted, hand-finished, and completely sealed on one side for protection and long lasting wear. The colors will not
fade. Your faux rug will brighten any area in your home for many years. There are no cleaning costs! Faux rugs only
require a damp mop to clean.
What is a faux rug? A faux rug is a fake painted rug. They are typically made of vinyl and have several layers of a protective finish.
Where are they used? Faux rugs are a popular choice for decorating bare floors such as wood, tile, linoleum, or concrete. They are not recommended for use over carpeting. How durable are they? Faux rugs, with normal use, can last for years. Each faux rug is protected with five layers of polyurethane. By comparison, in most vinyl floors, the pattern is printed onto the surface, which is then protected by a vinyl or urethane wear layer. How do I care for the faux rug? The finish on your faux rug is water/stain resistant. Simply damp mop to clean and occasionally apply a coating of polyurethane. When vacuuming or otherwise cleaning your floor, always make sure to clean beneath the rug to remove any dirt that might have slipped under.
Can I use them in the bathroom, foyer/front entrance? It is not recommended to use these rugs as a bathtub mat or doormat area that apt to get wet on a regular basis. It is recommended that you keep them dry and clean regularly. Can I use them in the kitchen? Yes. Wipe up any spills immediately with a damp sponge. Can I use them in the bedroom or nursery? Yes. They are an excellent substitute for typical area rugs, especially if dust mites are a concern. Will they slide on the floor? Like any area rug, the use of a non-slip pad is recommended because of its weight. These can be purchased anywhere that area rugs are sold. Be sure to get the right size for your rug. Cut the non-slid pad 1/2" shorter surrounding to the size of the rug area. Can faux rugs be used over existing carpets? No. It is not recommended. Faux rugs are thin and eventually the texture of the carpet will impress itself on the vinyl. Can I use my rug outdoors? No. These rugs are designed for interior use only. Can I place furniture on my rug? Yes. However, E-Z glides should be applied to the furniture legs. E-Z glides caps which are made of high-density compressed felts are preferred since they produce less friction than rubber/vinyl caps, click Angerman Hardwood Floors and you can purchase them from me. How should I store my faux rug? Always roll the vinyl area rug. Never fold or crease it. They should be rolled, face in, over a cylinder no less than 6" in diameter. Store in a cool dry place and avoid placing objects on top of it. How do I custom orders the design I want for the faux rug? When you are requesting a custom order, please describe your request in as much detail as the sketches, size, colors, and quantity as possible. As well as the shipping address and phone. I'll respond the perspective drawing and color painting procedures with a price via email/phone. Just about any copyright free design can be adapted for a faux rug. All orders require a 50% deposit with the balance due prior to shipping. You will receive a 5% discount if you choose to pay in full at the time you place your order.
How do I pay for faux rugs? Simply send an e-mail to Designers' Floor Works by Design your request, including your preferred method of payment and shipping. I'll either call you back or reply to your e-mail with the final total cost. Your order will be shipped upon receipt of payment. It will be shipped immediately after 72 hours of the last coat of polyurethane is cured. Please allow two to four weeks and a little longer during busy months for delivery. What is the shipping/handling being handled? Faux rugs will be shipped rolled and protected in a box or tube. I will include handling and insurance. I normally ship Priority shipping (Click-N-Ship) for confirmation delivery. I will use UPS and FEDX for the larger area rugs. Please notify me immediately of any damage during shipment so that we can file an insurance claim. IMPORTANT: Be sure to save all the packaging in which your faux rug arrived. The standard procedure is for USPS to inspect the quality of the packaging in order to settle a claim. What are the methods of payment?
